Throughout the months of helping a couple plan their wedding celebration, I often get asked what mine was like. I can’t lie… I LOVE TALKING ABOUT OUR WEDDING DAY. So this post…? is all about our Foxy Franklin celebration.
When Tyler and I first started planning, one thing was for certain… we wanted all of our favorite people in the same place at the same time. When else in your life will that EVER happen? We had no idea how big it would be or how amazing it would be… but it exceeded every expectation we had for it!
First, let me back up a bit. We survived dating long distance for the entire first year of our relationship. Tyler lived in Columbia, TN and me in Murray, KY. He had a studio apartment in downtown Columbia and he proposed there (sweetest thing ever as we spent so much time there!). We also took our engagement photos there and it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Fast forward to the wedding planning… we are huge into the lake lifestyle, so getting married at the lake seemed fitting. On top of that, Lake Barkley State Resort Park was perfect for Tyler’s out of town family members. I cannot explain how much easier it made it for everything to be in once place, plus we love the outdoors and if you’ve ever been to Lake Barkley, you know that it is the definition of a state park.
Although I dreamed of getting married outside, I asked my mom (who is good at everything), if we could somehow bring the outside, inside. We were too worried about the rain and I knew I wanted zero additional stress. I dreamed of having greenery draped all above us, with lights dangling. Of course she made it happen. The upstairs of my parents house turned into a wedding workshop where we built and assembled wooden masterpieces to hang from the ceiling.
The entire process was amazing. Was it stressful?… of course! But having our families and friends there for US meant more to us than we could’ve expressed in any words or thank you card.
Here we are, two 1/2 years later and are still so thankful for everyone who helped and celebrated with us. The photos (and video) speak more than my words can!
XOXO,
The Foxy Franklins – Lindsey & Tyler
